Subsystem evidence
The tractor design report is useful as early evidence of vehicle-system reasoning. It is not a current target-role headline, but it shows the habit of decomposing a mechanical design into physical checks rather than treating CAD as the entire engineering task.
- Chassis bending moment documented as 1,482,250 Nmm with section modulus 16,200 mm3.
- Primary and secondary frame members documented as 80x40x4 mm and 40x40x4 mm rectangular sections.
- Braking model documented 0.15 m brake radius, 10 m stopping distance, 2.411262 m/s2 deceleration, 100.45 kgm braking torque and brake factor 2.4.
- Steering model documented 1320 mm track width, 1800 mm wheelbase, 19.99 degree steering-arm angle, 28.63 degree delta and 196.5 mm steering-arm length.
- Transmission model linked 820 mm rear wheel diameter, 25 km/h top speed, 163 rpm wheel speed, 16.56 overall reduction ratio and 15.48 first-gear ratio.
- QFD evidence lists design drivers such as average weight, 25 km/h maximum speed, ballast, frame, hitch, radiator cooling and fuel efficiency.
Limitations
This page is intentionally concise: the attached evidence is a design-review calculation package, not a validated prototype test campaign. The report itself states that more accurate chassis conclusions would require CAE. Its value is context: it connects undergraduate mechanical foundations to later energy-system modelling, CFD and test-rig work.
